Mr. Jia Yan Attended the Inaugural Meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the China Democratic League

On May 10, 2023, the inaugural meeting of the Economic Committee, Social Committee, Science and Technology Committee, Ecological Environment Committee and Legal Committee of the 13th Central Committee of the China Democratic League (CDL) was held in Beijing. Zhang Daohong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the CDL, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhang Feng, Deputy Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CDL, presided over the meeting.

Zhang Daohong pointed out in his speech that Chairman Ding Zhongli has repeatedly emphasized that participation in the administration and discussion of state affairs is the first and foremost task of the work of democratic parties of China. The specialized committees, as important working bodies of the Central Committee of the CDL, are the main force and think tank for participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs and making suggestions, and the effectiveness of the work of the specialized committees is directly related to the level of the Central Committee's participation the administration and discussion of state affairs.

He talked about four points regarding the work of the specialized committees. First, to identify the positions and duties of the specialized committees and enhance the sense of responsibility and mission. Second, to promote the culture of investigation and research, and strive to promote the work quality and efficiency of the specialized committees. Third, to insist on strengthening the foundation, and strengthen the work system construction of the specialized committees. Fourth, to strengthen communication and collaboration, and actively build a "big political discussion" working pattern.

Su Jian, Director of the Economic Committee, Dong Zuoji, Director of the Social Committee, Tang Yanhong, Director of the Ecological Environment Committee, Long Weiqiu, Director of the Legal Committee, Yu Minhong, Director of the Education Committee, Yuan Quan, Vice Minister of the Department of Political Participation and Deliberation of the Central Committee of the CDL, and Yang Anmin, a Second Grade Inspector, attended the meeting. Also present at the meeting are more than 170 members of the Economic Committee, Social Committee, Science and Technology Committee, Ecological Environment Committee, and Legal Committee of the Central Committee of the CDL, as well as invited representatives.
